In the olden days, the tamilians used to sing the THIRUPPAVAI and THIRUVEMBAVAI during Marghazhi(Tamil Month usually starts around December 15 to January 15) in temples.
Today, thanks to corporates and music lovers, it is celebrated in academies and sabhas, and all of us get a tryst with artistes in these festive moments, to hear their renditions of the compositions of the Trinity of Karnatic Music - St. Thyagaraja, Muthuswamy Diskshithar & Shyama Shastry along with other great compositions and celebrate the joy of music.
